Vaporizers
Subscribe to RSS FeedHow does a vaporizer and vaping work?
A vaporizer is a device that allows a substance (usually herbs, concentrates, or oils) to be heated to a temperature high enough to vaporize it, without burning it, so that the active ingredient can be inhaled through the produced vapor.
The vaporization process occurs in three main stages:
Heating: When the substance is heated, the heat evaporates the essential oils, terpenes, and cannabinoids present in the plant, but without burning the substance.
Vaporization: The vapor produced from the heated substance is then inhaled through a mouthpiece or air outlet of the vaporizer. Unlike combustion, vaporization produces a cooler and less irritating vapor compared to smoke, as it does not contain the harmful substances produced by combustion.
Cooling: The vapor produced during vaporization is then cooled so that it is cool enough to be inhaled. This can be done by passing through a water cooling system or by cooling the air in the device.
Vaporization is generally considered a healthier form of consumption compared to combustion, as it does not burn the substance and therefore does not produce harmful substances such as tar and carbon monoxide.
